Louth LGFA have announced that Wayne Freeman is to be new Senior team manager.
The Kildare man who addressed club delegates to the Louth LGFA County Board meeting in Clan na Gael on Friday 1st November revealed that Dublin native Lee Hunt would act as his assistant. Two locally based female members will complete the backroom team.
The 25 year old who hails from Monasterevin is possibly the youngest person to hold such a position with a county and is excited at the prospect of managing the Wee County. He plans to hold a number of trials before finalising his panel for the NFL campaign which gets underway in February.
The appointment brings to an end the search for a successor to Darren Bishop after the Cremartin clubman stepped down after a hugely successful 18 months in charge culminating in winning the All Ireland Junior Football Cchampionship in September.
The meeting also saw the ratification of Martin Duffy and Clodagh McClean as the Minor and Under 14 managers respectively while the appointment of the Under 16 manager will be made later this month.
