Championship News Update

The semi-final line-ups for the Senior and Intermediate Championships are now complete following last week-end’s fixtures.

In Senior Group A Stabannon and Roche played out an exciting drawn match, which effectively ended both teams chances in the competition. Geraldines finish on top of that group with a one hundred percent record. *They will be joined in the semi-finals by St Mochtas who will take the second place. St Brides can’t overtake St Mochtas as they have lost the head-to-head between the two sides.

Meanwhile the Clans overcame the O’Raghallaighs/Plunketts in their last match of the group. The semi-final line-up will be;

  • Mattock Rangers v St Patricks
  • Dreadnots v St Fechins.

News Update – U12 League Finals, Senior & Intermediate Championship

Thursday was a good evening for Geraldines as their Senior Ladies confirmed their place in the Senior Championship semi-finals and their U12s won the Under-12 North League Final.

In Haggardstown a 5-9 to 2-10 win over St Mochtas in Senior Championship Group A means the Gers are through to the semi-final as group winners  where they will play Group B runners-up Newtown Blues. St Mochtas will be hoping to hold on to the second qualifying spot they currently hold. The remaining fixtures in the group will see the Brides, Roche/Na Piarsiagh and Stabannon fight it out, all still in with a chance of overtaking the Mochtas.

Meanwhile in Kilkerley the future Geraldines stars played the U12 North League Final against their old rivals Cooley Kickhams, with the Gers winning out on a score of 2-7 to 1-6.

Action from the U12 North League Final

The Under 12 South League Final is on Saturday when St Kevins take on St Fechins in Knockbridge at 12pm.

In the Senior Championship Stabannon take on visitors Roche/NaPiarsiagh on Sunday at 11; a “must win” for both teams to stay alive in the competition.

Senior Group A

Intermediate Group A comes to a conclusion on Sunday at 11. St Pat’s are already confirmed as semi-finalists, with the Dreadnots hoping to join them after their match. Clans and O’Raghallaighs/Plunketts also meet, both looking for their first win of the campaign.

Championship Update, semi-final spots confirmed, others still up for grabs

Following this week-end’s club championship fixtures the semi-finals line-up in both the Senior and Intermediate competitions is becoming clearer.

Senior Group A is still wide open; Geraldines and St Mochtas currently occupy the top spots but with Roche/NaPiarsaigh, St Brides and Stabannon all with two games remaining, none of them are out of the running.

Senior Group B has come to a conclusion, with Cooley taking first place. The Blues won the shoot-out for second place with a convincing win over St Kevins on Sunday. So, Cooley and Newtown Blues have semi-final places secured.

In Intermediate Group A St Pats top the table and have secured a semi-final spot after their win in Monasterboice on Sunday. Dreadnots currently hold the second semi-final place on points difference over Naomh Mairtin/Glen Emmets after a big win over the Clans, but they will need to at least keep in touch with St Pats in their final group match in two weeks time to keep that place. The two Division 3 teams, Clan na Gael and O’Raghallaighs/Plunketts will fight it out for their first win of the competition in their last game of the group.

Intermediate Group B is also concluded. Mattock have finished on top with an impressive three wins out of three. The Fechins, Glyde and Finbarrs all finished equal on points with just one win each, but St Fechins have secured the second semi-final place by the slimmest of margins with a 2 point score difference advantage over Glyde.

Full results and group tables are in our results section.
