All Fixtures Postponed

A reminder to all clubs in the county;  all fixtures are postponed due to the death of Micheal McKeown (Louth LGFA Team Manager).

This includes underage blitzes organised for this Saturday morning (9th July).

The U12 games scheduled for Thursday evening (7th July) are now refixed for Sunday morning at 11am.

It is with great regret that I bring you the sad news of the untimely passing of Micheál McKeown Louth LGFA Senior Team manager today (Monday 5th June 2018) . We pass our condolences to his wife Mary, his family circle and his many friends at this very sad time.

Funeral Details:

Reposing at his residence on Thursday (7th) from 11:30am to 9pm and on Friday (8th) from 11:30am to 9pm. Removal on Saturday morning (9th) at 10:30am arriving to St. Edna’s Church, Killanny for Funeral Mass at 11:30am. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.

House private on Saturday please.

FUNdamentals Coaching Course in Co. Louth

Saturday 14th July in St Kevin’s Community Centre, Philipstown

This course is an introductory coaching programme. Coaches will look at:

  • Importance of creating a positive environment for our players
  • Importance of Fundamental Movement Skills & Injury Prevention
  • Planning and implementing training programmes
  • Introduction to the player pathway
  • Create an awareness about making sessions more inclusive

Who should attend:

Any existing coach or anybody interested in getting involved in coaching Ladies Football

Participants must be 16 years and over

Registration from 9:30, Course starts at 10:00 until 16:00.

Championship Launch and News Update

The 2018 Championship Launch will be held in St Marys GFC on Monday Evening next at 8pm.

All clubs who are participating in this years Adult Championships are requested to have four players present and togged out for 7-30pm in their club colours.

Other News:

  • Please note that the Throw In Times of all Mid Week Adult Matches from next week on are changed from 7pm to 7-30pm.
  • Geraldines “B” have withdrawn from Div 2 and St Brides “B” have withdrawn from Div 3.

County Board Meeting and Championship Launch

The next Co Board meeting will be on Tuesday next May the 8th due to the Bank Holiday Weekend.

And The Championship Launch will be held on Monday May the 14th.

The venue for the County Board Meeting is St Kevins GFC in Phillipstown.
