Meanwhile in Ardee there were joyous scenes for Glen Emmets, as Aoife Russell lifted the Division 3 trophy for the Tullyallen club in their first season back as a standalone adult ladies team.
They had to come from behind in the final against a well organised and skillful O’Raghallaiaghs/Oliver Plunketts Team. A last minute goal from substitute Grace Stafford tied the game and sent it into extra-time, in which the Emmets outscored their opponents by 3 points. Final score 2-13 to 1-13.
Superb action shots from Warren Matthews captured the all important equalising goal, which the referee and umpire correctly adjudged to have crossed the line.
