News Update: U16 Finals, U12 Finals and Minor Fixtures

Well done to Hunterstown Rovers who won the Under 16 B Shield in a hugely entertaining and closely fought decider versus Naomh Mairtin in Stabannon before the intermediate final on Sunday. A point deep into injury time proved to the deciding score; Hunterstown 5-5 – Naomh Mairtin 4-7.

Here is the updated Fixture List for the remaining U16 finals, the U12 finals and which also includes the Minor Draws.

Clubs who are involved in the Local Senior and Leinster Championships are excluded from Rd 1 and possibly Rd 2 for now.

In relation to venues for u12 and u16 we would ask clubs to please be patient, as the county board are currently trying to secure pitches.

Any games that are postponed, clubs are asked to try and agree a date for re-fixtures. Mid Week is an option as we cannot put games back indefinitely given the tight schedule that exists. Otherwise we will have to refix games and send out as per normal procedure.

Championship Finalists Confirmed

It was a busy weekend for Ladies Football in the county. Check out all the results here.

The finalists for both the Intermediate and Senior Championships are now confirmed following Sunday’s semi-finals. The Senior final will be between Cooley and Geraldines following their victories over Newtown Blues and St Mochtas respectively.

In the Intermediate final St Patricks will play St Fechins, who came out on top after extra-time in their semi-final versus the Dreadnots.

U12 Patsy Thornton Memorial Cup

U12 Patsy Thornton Memorial Cup

The family of the late Patsy Thornton & Newtown Blues have donated a cup for the U12 competition. Patsy was a great footballer and lover of Gaelic and with close ties with the Blues and in his earlier years the Geraldines, we are delighted that we can remember him and his family in this way. (If we can keep the competition going next year his granddaughters will play in it with Mattock).
