Stabannon Parnells GFC are delighted to announce details of an exciting new Skills Academy that is commencing on the Saturday March 2nd. Last year the club ran the Gaelic 4 Girls programme which saw 69 girls come to Stabannon for 8 weeks to play football. The Skills Academy will be a similar programme and will run initially for 6 weeks. It is aimed at increasing participation in Ladies Gaelic Football in Stabannon. The programme targets girls aged between 7-10 years who want to learn how to play football, meet new friends and have fun.
The Skills Academy is focused on enjoyment and participation, allowing girls to get an introduction to Ladies Gaelic Football in a non-competitive environment. It will be held in Stabannon Parnells GFC grounds every Saturday from 10-11am. Coaches include 16 Senior Stabannon Parnells Ladies team members who are looking forward to passing on their knowledge to the youth. On completion of the programme, participants are presented with certificates and club water bottles. Following the 6 weeks, the girls will be encouraged to play in various blitzes and integrated into an under 10s girls team as part of the Stabannon Parnells Club.
After last years successful Gaelic 4 Girls initiative this is promised to be a great opportunity to introduce your child to sport in a fun and inclusive environment. This is a great way to make new friends and learn a new sport! The cost for the entire programme is only €30 and by paying this €30 you become a full member of Stabannon Parnells GFC. It is free to existing members. For more information contact Teresa on 087 417 3301.
