Wednesday 29th July sees another round of fixtures in Divisions 1 & 2 of the Louth LGFA.
Holders Cooley who surprisingly lost to neighbours St. Patrick’s on Sunday can ill afford another loss when they travel to Termonfeckin to take on the local side who were beaten finalists in 2018. Fechins were impressive opening day winners over St. Pats and followed that with an equally fine showing despite losing to Mochtas on Sunday last, their cause not helped by hitting 10 wides over the hour.
Pats will be full of confidence following their fine win over Cooley with county star Kate Flood and Deirbhile O’Doherty getting the goals. They wont have it easy against Mochtas who themselves had their first win over Fechins last Sunday.
A poor first first half showing was costly as Newtown Blues went down to a 14 point defeat to Geraldines having trailed by 3-5 to 0-4 at the break. They take on St.Brides who also have 1 win from their two outings and both managers will see this as a must win fixture.
There are a number of games down for decision in Division 2 with struggling Nh. Fionnbarra hosting a very promising Kilkerley who were very unlucky to lose to Clan na Gael on Sunday.
Competition favourites Clans will be expected to have too much firepower for Dreadnots and the Gleann Mháirtin combination look to be too strong for Glyde. The Roche v Kevins/Hunterstown clash goes back 24 hours to Thursday night.
