Gleann Mhairtin continued their intermediate championship campaign with another win on Sunday morning against Dreadnots.
The home side took the lead in the first half with great shooting from the forwards despite windy conditions. The Dreadnots kept in touch by creating chances and converting their frees leaving just 2 points between the teams at half time.
Gleann Mhairtin moved up a gear in the second half and continued to add to the score board as a result of great attacking play and work rate by the midfield and forwards. Chances were hard to come by for the Dreadnots in the second half due to pressure from the home side’s defence.
Gleann Mhairtin closed the game out strongly with a 2-15 to 1-06 win to clinch their semi-final place. Dreadnots will play Naomh Fionnbarra next week for the other semi-final spot from this group.
