Two late goals from Lainey McCormac broke Hunterstown hearts in this Intermediate final played in ideal conditions on Sunday 8th October in Dunleer.

Two youthful teams provided an exciting encounter with Hunterstown taking an early lead thanks to Lainey McCormac.
Hunterstown reply was immediate as Sarah Lynch had the game’s first goal after four minutes. Both sides hit wides before the Drogheda side hit four wides before Hannah Martin pointed in the 20th minute. Further scores from the impressive Lainey McCormac (2) and Martin to a single reply from Sarah Lynch left the combination side 0:6 to 1:2 in front at the interval. The shooting accuracy improved on the resumption with Mischa Rooney, Hannah Martin, Sarah Lynch and Chloe Sawyer all on target leaving the side’s level 1:4 to 0:7 after 35 minutes
The game’s second goal arrived just two minutes later following a superb run by Mischa Rooney whose pass found the onrushing Orlaith Carolan who crashed an unstoppable shot into the net.
Sarah Lynch extended the mid-Louth lead with another fine score. The girls in Red could have doubled their shortly lead after when Hannah Martin saw her shot go narrowly wide.
A point from Substitute Lucie Rooney left just one between them before Nora Conaghy’s pass found Lainey McCormac whose first time shot came back off the cross bar with McCormac smashing home the rebound. A Emma White point put the town side two clear, however Hunterstown had chances to draw level before Lainey McCormac made sure of the win for the combination team as she capped a fine personal display by converting a penalty
